2. **Schools in areas with no electricity, no internet, and no mobile connectivity.** DRAIS requires occasional power for device charging. Schools in genuinely off-grid locations need a power solution before digital attendance is viable.
For every other school — and that represents the vast majority of Uganda's 15,000+ registered primary and secondary schools — DRAIS delivers clear advantages over manual attendance on accuracy, speed, parent communication, reliability, and long-term outcomes.
The question is not "can we afford DRAIS?" — starting at UGX 150,000/month, the cost is lower than many schools realize. The question is "can we afford to keep running manual attendance?" and increasingly, the answer is no.
